Hi, I'm Nick, nice to meet you! My wife, Emily, and I started growing our own vegetables in the summer of 2021; the thrill of cooking with ingredients grown in our own backyard quickly convinced us to dedicate the summer of 2022 to cultivating our very own backyard veggie plot!
The 2022 growing season came and went with many long days on the new veggie plot and even more valuable learning experiences gained. Our first veggie plot was a success and was able to feed our family with delicious homegrown veggies all season!
This year, we are planning to further expand our veggie plot and add some extra critters to the farm in the form of laying hens and bees. We will also be planting the first generation of trees in our orchard, but it will be a few years before we are able to offer any fruit from these young trees.
Stay up to date with the farm's progress through our blog, and don't forget to follow us on social media for the insider scoop on what May Acres has to offer!
Food is one of the most important resources for living well, yet now it seems how we judge what we fuel our bodies with is largely determined by convenience. For something that provides such value to us, it is surprising how little we know about the journey our food takes before it gets to us.
Here at May Acres, we pride ourselves in providing high quality, local produce with emphasis on maximizing taste and nutritional value. While large commercial growing operations have to prioritize shelf life and the ability to be shipped around the country, your local farm can focus on growing the tastiest veggies destined directly for your kitchen.
You know your doctor and your barber, so why shouldn't you know your farmer? Come out to the farm and see where your food is grown! We look forward to making a positive impact in our community, one member at a time.
